Upcoming Events

Looking for ways to celebrate your Italian heritage and meet like-minded DC-area Italophiles? Join our next event:

July: Bocce Ball for Beginners (experts welcome too)! July 12th, 2 pm, Randolf & Glebe Park, Arlington, VA

Join us for our first-ever low-stakes BOCCE BALL outing! That means, if you’ve never played this ancient Italian “lawn” game, we’ll teach you. And if you already have experience playing bocce, that will make it all the more fun!! We’ll be meeting at 2 pm at Randolph & Glebe Park (Ballston), 615 N Glebe Rd, in Arlington. We must reserve and pay a fee for these regulation courts; thus, we are collecting a participation fee of $5 for non-UNICO members to participate (this fee is waived for PAID UNICO members). This fee can be paid by registering your attendance through Eventbrite at this link (which includes a small fee), or you can bring cash and pay in person. Following this event, we may decide to regroup and enjoy each other’s company at a local restaurant.

UNICO DMV CULINARY CLASS RAISES $1K FOR ST. JUDES

February 22, 2026

A group of ten participants in the February UNICO DMV-sponsored Italian Culinary Class and Lunch “Cucina e Mangia con Cuore” raised $1,000 for our chosen charity for this event, St. Judes Research Hospital. The participants learned to make several toppings for crostini and bruschette antipasti, hand-made gnocchi, two delicous sauces, and home-made Sicilian blood orange sorbetto. After the teaching session, the group sat down and ate lunch Italian family-style. It was a wonderful morning and afternoon of celebrating our Italian culture while contributing to a good cause. UNICO DMV will be offering future cooking classes, including making hand-made ravioli, home-made foccaccia, brick oven pizza, and home-made gelato. Check back for future announcements!
